\u201c"So I decided to start my own business. I registered with the craftsmen's association, completed all the necessary formalities, and got to work."\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n We are in Caorle, a small fishing village with ancient origins, dating back to Roman times. For centuries a modest fishing village with ties to Venice, in those years Caorle was experiencing a new life: seaside tourism was beginning to develop, and the town was transforming into one of the most popular destinations in the Upper Adriatic. It was into this vibrant environment that Gianni began his career as an electrician, installing systems and repairing small appliances and washing machines.<\/p>\n The early days were filled with tireless work and a lot of travel. In the very early days, Gianni reached customers at home with a hand-pulled cart, carrying tools and, when necessary, the repaired part to take home to a garage that doubled as a workshop. It was a profession built on close hands, trust, and door-to-door travel.<\/p>\n \u201cI went on like this for about two years, then I proposed to my brother Elvio that we get together.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n From that moment on, the brothers began to install electrical systems in homes and hotels on behalf of construction companies.<\/p>\n \u201cWe opened a repair shop on Via Sansonessa and began repairing black and white radios and televisions.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n With much sacrifice and hard work, the appliance shop was opened on Via Gorgona, complete with an attached repair shop, while the plumbing and plumbing business continued.<\/p>\n The appliance store in the 70s<\/p>\n \u201cIn the meantime we joined forces with our father Armando, who had resigned from his old employer as a tractor driver.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n The family became the heart of the company, in the truest sense. Gianni and Elvio married young, as was the custom then, and started separate families, building two apartments above the shop.<\/p>\n \u201cWe got married and started separate families, but we all lived and ate together with our parents.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n The brothers' wives, Angela and Valeria, have been working alongside their husbands since the early years, taking care of the store's sales. They still do so today, alongside a team of young, well-trained sales assistants. Together, they greet customers every day, but longtime customers often continue to ask for the two of them, a relationship built over decades of mutual trust.<\/p>\n In 1979, a second company, Grandin F.lli, was founded, dedicated to separating sales from repairs. It was the sign of a journey that never stopped.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2026until we started expanding the company. 1999\u2026 Grandin Group.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n In 1999, the brothers' first company became the Grandin Group, marking the arrival of their children and the beginning of a new era. Over the years, the family has grown: the two brothers each have a son and a daughter, and as they grew older, the children joined the company, working alongside their parents until they shared equal leadership.<\/p>\n With the new millennium came another transformation. Since 2008, with the spread of the internet, the company has expanded its online sales to complement its storefront, bringing the experience and product range gained over forty years of business to an ever-expanding market, now reaching customers throughout Europe.<\/p>\n Today, their children work in the company, carrying on a legacy of expertise and direct relationships with people. Gianni, now in his eighties, and Elvio continue to be a point of reference. The two brothers and their wives still work every day, but they have also learned to stop and celebrate, enjoying the fruits of a lifetime of sacrifice. Because the family remains united: they still gather around the table when possible, occasionally extending the table to include their co-workers and grandchildren of all ages.<\/p>\n From a hand-pulled cart to a group that now sells throughout Europe: the tools have changed, but not the spirit.
